This is the 13-inch MacBook Air with the fuller 10-core graphics processor rather than the 8-core one. Everything else about the machine is the same thin, silent, all-day laptop. The extra graphics cores matter if you edit photos, colour-grade video or run anything that leans on the GPU rather than the CPU.
What you get
- Apple M5 with a 10-core CPU and the full 10-core GPU, so photo exports and video scrubbing finish noticeably sooner than on the 8-core graphics version
- 16GB of unified memory shared between CPU and GPU, so large images do not have to be copied between separate pools of memory
- 512GB SSD with room for a working library of RAW files rather than just finished exports
- Fanless chassis, so a long export runs without a fan whine in the background
- 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, 500 nits, 1 billion colours, which is enough colour depth for editing rather than just viewing
- Up to 18 hours of video streaming per charge, so editing away from a desk is realistic
- Two Thunderbolt 4 ports for a fast external drive and an external display at the same time
