A pressure cooker built wider and shallower than the usual tall pot, which is the practical change: a whole chicken or a rack of ribs lies flat instead of being wedged in, and you can see and reach everything inside. Beyond pressure cooking it slow cooks, steams, sautes and makes rice and yoghurt, so it covers most of what a second pot on the stove would do.
What you get
- 7.5 quart wide pot, so ribs, a whole chicken or a large roast lie flat rather than being forced upright
- Nine cooking functions in one appliance — pressure cook, slow cook, rice, steam, saute, yoghurt, keep warm and more — which is one plug and one thing to store
- Wider, shallower shape, which makes it far easier to reach in and lift food out than a narrow deep pot
- Faster preheat than the standard RIO, so the wait before the timer even starts is shorter
- Saute directly in the pot, so browning and pressure cooking happen in one vessel instead of a pan plus a cooker
- Keep Warm holds dinner at temperature if people eat at different times
- Dishwasher-safe inner pot and lid, which matters on a pot this size
