The least expensive way into standalone virtual reality that still runs the current library properly. It uses the same processor as the Quest 3, so games play the same — the savings come from simpler lenses and a slightly lower-resolution display. Two controllers are in the box, and nothing else is required to use it.
What you get
- Same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor as the Quest 3, so it runs the same catalogue rather than a cut-down version of it
- 1832 x 1920 per eye, which is sharp enough that games and video hold up, at a much lower price than the Quest 3
- Full-colour passthrough at 4MP, so you can see your room and set a play boundary without taking the headset off
- 128GB of storage, which covers a handful of games and the apps most people actually open
- 72Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz refresh modes, so you can favour smoothness in fast games
- Three-position lens spacing adjustment, so the image can be set to suit different faces
- Two Touch Plus controllers included, so a second purchase is not needed to start
- Hand tracking, useful for browsing and media when you do not want to hold anything
