Valve's handheld PC, running its own Linux-based SteamOS with a controller-first interface. It plays a Steam library away from the desk, and because it is a real PC it also docks to a TV or monitor. The OLED version is the one to have: better screen, bigger battery, lighter, and quieter than the original LCD model.
What you get
- 7.4-inch HDR OLED screen at 90Hz, which is both larger and far higher contrast than the original LCD Deck, in the same size body
- 512GB NVMe SSD, enough for a working set of installed games, with a microSD slot for the rest
- 50Whr battery and a more efficient processor than the LCD model, so sessions run noticeably longer
- Two trackpads alongside the sticks, which makes strategy games and anything built for a mouse actually playable on a handheld
- Suspend and resume — press the power button and the game stops exactly where it was, like closing a laptop lid
- Wi-Fi 6E for faster downloads on a modern router
- Docks to a TV or monitor over USB-C, so it doubles as a small desktop machine
- Steam Deck Verified labels in the store tell you before you buy whether a game runs properly on it
